Santa Barbara's hundreds of restaurants offer truly global variety. Whatever kind of food you're looking for, Santa Barbara has it all! Many of the best restaurants are downtown on State Street and can be reached easily on foot or by bicycle. The following are our favorites:

Pascucci

Incredible Italian food at unbelievably low prices. Pascucci is located on State Street right next to the Paseo Nuevo mall. The interior is nicely decorated, but especially for lunch we like to sit at one of the few tables outside.

Gisella's Trattoria Pizzaria

Gisella's is an authentic Italian trattoria with delicious food and a wonderful, romantic atmosphere. Try the authentic Italian pizza! The dishes are reasonably priced.

Bucatini

Another wonderful Italian restaurant on State Street! We especially enjoy eating on the patio and watching people walk by. One of our favorite dishes is butter sage ravioli.

Palazzio Trattoria Italiana

This is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Santa Barbara, and for good reason: the food is excellent, the portions are big and the service is great. Try the carbonara!

Edomasa

This sushi restaurant is very popular among students because its prices are very low and it is the only sushi place still open at 23:00. And the food tastes great!

Sushi Teri

Another sushi restaurant that is very popular among students – mainly because it's very inexpensive. It's not the best sushi in town but it's a fun place to go, and it's quick and easy to reach from the Student Home.

Something's Fishy Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

A great Japanese sushi and hibachi place! The food is not 100% authentic, but it's always excellent and the prices are reasonable.

Arigato Sushi

Excellent sushi restaurant with very fresh fish, creative rolls and a cool and hip atmosphere. Try the quail oyster shooter! Arigato is near the ELS Language Center.

Shintori Sushi Factory

Shintori has probably the best sushi in Santa Barbara. The atmosphere is quaint and authentic, and the prices are fair. Shintori is too far to walk but you can easily reach it by bicycle or the State Street shuttle bus.

The Palace Café Grill

You will feel like in New Orleans when visiting this excellent Cajun restaurant. It offers fabulous Cajun food, attentive service and a great atmosphere! The prices are okay.
